What is your favorite kind of bagel and what do you put on it?
Submitted by Nacwolin.
I know I haven't been updating this for the longest time, but I just had to answer this.
My favorite bagel would be the plain one, and I want it slathered with thick cream cheese (Philadephia brand). Yum! I also like it with egg salad. :D
This makes me want to buy a bag of bagels later and bring them to work tomorrow.:D
What was your very first job?
Submitted by Laurel.
My first unofficial job was a ticket reseller for a Reuben Morgan concert/worship last June. I sold tickets for the concert and got 10% of my ticket sales. I got about 6K? I also did that during my internship, but then again, I don't really consider my internship my real job because I didn't do anything there. :P
My first official job is what I'm doing right now: product development assistant for Sun Cellular. Yeah. Coz everything good is under the sun. :P Naks. :)
If you could write a book about anything, what would it be about?
Wow, this is a hard question! But I want to answer it. :P Right now, I want to write a chicklit book...see, I've recently gotten hold of Christian chicklit and I loved it immensely...it was nice chicklit and really clean; not a speck of pre-marital sex or whatsoever inside it (except for one, but it was a character backstory, and there was no extra descriptions that could lead to wild imaginations). I want to write something like that, but this time it's a Filipina, and a Catholic (because I rarely see Catholics in Christian fiction). I've been toying with the idea lately and I'd really like to write a book on that. :P
And I have a dream. I want to be able to publish at least two books...one fiction and one non-fiction. :) Yeahbah.
What is your favorite way to relieve stress?
My favorite way to relieve stress is to read. Whenever my own world is too hard to bear, I'd go dive into another one through books and destress there. After that, I'd be good again, ready to tackle whatever there is in front of me. :D
On extremely stressful moments...I pray. I take a deep breath, and say a quick prayer. On EXTREMELY stressful days, I take a while to pray and most of the times I go to mass. After that, everything feels better. :D
What's your favorite way to keep in touch? Phone, snail mail, email, text message, Vox, ____?
My most convenient one would be phone call, email and text message because I'd be sure to get it the same day (or the same minute, if it's on text message). Plus text messaging is also fun whenever you're discussing something on the spur-of-the-moment. Phone calls are also nice, but I don't like making them; I like receiving them. Weird? I know. :p
But nothing beats snail mail. There's the thrill of receiving snail mail letters and packages that really just rocks. :p And snail mail shows some effort on the writer's part, which just makes the letter even more sincere. :)
What is your browser's default home page set to?
It's refineme.org. :D Vain much? Haha, go on, click it, I know you want to. :P
What books are on your nightstand?
Yes, I wouldn't pass up a post on books. It's still book season for me. :D
Right now I am reading The Eyre Affair by Jasper Fforde, which is the first book in the Thursday Next series. I've read the last book so now I'm sort of connecting the characters I've read about in the last book to the characters that are being introduced in this book. I'm almost halfway through and I'm liking it a lot. :D Thursday Next is such a lovable Nancy Drew-like character that I'd love to have her job, if a world like hers exist.
In this book, Thursday Next comes back to Swindon because her future self told her to go back there and work in the Swindon LiteraTec (Literary Detectives, SO-27) to follow Acheron Hades, the unnaturally evil being who killed two of her colleagues back in London. Hades was up to something bad, and when Jane Eyre disappears from the novel, Thursday knew Hades was connected to it somehow. That, and with her Uncle and Aunt being kidnapped as well as fixing her love life, Thursday is in for a busy time.
I can't wait to see how this turns out. :D I've said this before and I'll say it again. Jasper Fforde is a genius. :)
Other books that are in my to-read list are the following:
- The Well of Lost Plots by Jasper Fforde
- The Divine Secrets of the Ya-ya Sisterhood by Rebecca Wells
- The Good Earth by Pearl S. Buck
Other books will be added here once they arrive (from packages sent) or when I get to buy them. :D
